Car travelling is a very low cost way of travelling. With a comfortable vehicle, you can stay virtually anywhere and sleep in your vehicle. There are truck stops with shower facilities available everywhere to freshen up everyday. Consider going swimming using a community rec center as well. Cost of running a car is so much more cheaper than an RV plus you can use it when you are back at your home base as well. You might have a car top carrier to store more things for those longer trips like a tent for example. You can easily combine this economical way of saving money with the others that i will be discussing on my travel pages and continue your adventure for longer periods of time, I tried this in June of 99. The only drawback that I found besides lack of comfort was the nights that were hot and if you opened a window, the mosquitos entered. Some sort of screen would have been nice to have added into the window frame. Car camping without packing a tent, is best done solo. You can travel in two vehicles and tour the sights and stay in contact with a CB radio. I hope to do another long touring trip in the future.
