I left Denver heading south on the I-25 and noted that Colorado Springs is in a gorgeous location. I will
be sure to explore this city and area on the way back! Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, U.S. Air Force Academy. New Mexico appears to be a very poor state with many run down, ramshackle homes. I ended up in Las Vegas, N.M. for the night. I checked out one dingy cheap motel in Las Vegas, NM. It was in horrible shape. Just wondered how they could keep it open from the looks of it.
I went over a mountain pass in Colorado and arrived in New Mexico.
