THE TEXAS TRIP - DAY 26a

THE TEXAS TRIP - DAY 26a - Wednesday, January 9, 2002

AMARILLO, TEXAS TO PUEBLO, COLORADO

Then it was off to the world famous Big Texan Restaurant, home of the 72 oz. Steak. If you’re able to eat it, along with a salad, baked potato, and roll within an hour - it’s free. While I was there, I also saw 6-foot long rattlesnake, and a full-sized stuffed bear and ocelot. The halfway mark for the historic Route 66 is in Amarillo, so of course I just HAD to drive down it! Then I hit the open highway again for the Oklahoma panhandle, eastern Colorado, and west to Pueblo, CO. where I spent the evening.

I drove over to the Cadillac Ranch, just outside of Amarillo. If you don’t keep your eyes peeled for it you’ll miss it, since there are no signs at all. Anyways, here I am... "Outstanding in my field!" LOL

The Wandering Hobo at Cadilac Ranch.
