In downtown Dallas I visited the site where President
John F. Kennedy was assassinated. It was so strange to
see the spots where history took place – the Texas
Book Depository, the grassy knoll, the “x” in the road
where the fatal shot hit the President. After having
seen these images on TV so many times, and remembering
vividly the tragedy when it took place so many years
ago, it was an eerie and touching experience to
actually be there.

I then drove to Arlington, where I spent the rest of the evening talking with my hosts, Doug and Shirley. They have traveled extensively since their retirement 5 years ago – to Bali, the Czech Republic, Germany, Mexico, Alaska, France, Great Britain, and even Winnipeg, Manitoba to name a few!
