Day 17 – Monday, December 31, 2001
Austin is a lovely city, with really interesting
architecture and ambience. Unfortunately, I didn’t
have too much time to spend there, so I basically
just did a quick drive-by tour of the downtown area,
stopping to take some shots of the State Capitol
Building and others.
Then I drove on to San Antonio and spent New Year’s
Eve watching the festivities on TV. I looked out the door and saw fireworks going off everywhere and heard yelling, honking of horns and just whoOping the New Year in.
Getting familar with Austin, Texas.
Austin is home for the State Capitol Building.
State Capitol Building.
Fireman stature.
I didn't do it. I was framed. Let me out!
A 4 level freeway of ramps behind me... Ramps going every which way. Some feat for the engineers.
I took a picture of this street car as well.
Interesting architecture.
More interesting designs.
Another interesting building. The city bus reminded me too much of work. ;)
The bats were not flying but this is the bridge where they make their famous flights from. Guess I will have to come back for that.
And here are the bats when in season! Wow!
