Day before Christmas and all the shops are closed. Days 10 – 14 - Monday, December 24 to Friday,
December 28, 2001
Since it was the Christmas season, the mechanic wasn’t
available until December 26th, so I had to amuse
myself in Las Cruces (not an easy thing to do!)
until Friday when the car was finally fixed – I like
to say that I spent a month one week in Las Cruces,
if you get my drift!
However, I made the most of this glitch in my plans,
and spent the days going for walks,
watching TV, and even found a really good little
Mexican restaurant near the motel called “Chilitos”.
I would highly recommend it, even though it’s just a
“hole in the wall” kind of place – it has excellent
food at rock bottom prices!
I stayed in this Super 8 motel, just 2 blocks away from where the car was being repaired.
