The initial plans for the Texas road trip destination really took shape in April, 2001 after my mother had passed away. I had come across a Texas travel guide in a hospital sitting room down at the end of the hall. Finding that book on the coffee table really made it stand out, as I had the same book in my travel folders. I already had pondered a snowbird trip down to Texas since my last road trip to Saskatchewan. I had never travelled to that state as yet. It was a hard time to think about vacations after the disrupting events of Sept. 11th, and all that has been happening since then. However, life does go on, and we must continue with our daily lives and still plan for the unknown future. Little did i realize the life changing events along the way that this trip would make in my life as i travelled the highways and biways.
