THERESA AND SHARON'S VISIT TO ALBERTA - OFF TO THE MOUNTAINS

THERESA AND SHARON'S VISIT TO ALBERTA - OFF TO THE MOUNTAINS

Off to Johnston Canyon as we continue the adventure on this webpage now...

We continued back to Hwy 1 and then took the Hwy 1A turn off for Johnston Canyon. We found a number of cars stopped on the highway but it was to get a close up picture of an elk and not a bear.

Sharon is here at the trailhead to Johnston Canyon Falls.

Sharon spots this flower with the butterfly on it.

Theresa and Linda bend this tree out of shape!

You can usually find one of these critters along the trail looking for a handout.

Theresa and Sharon pose at the first lookout point that we come to.

You can look down at the stream from above.

Theresa, Sharon and Linda climb these rocks along the trail to pose for a picture.

Theresa takes a lazy minute out posing along the trail.

The trail is interesting as you find several catwalks along the way. Where there is no trail, you find catwalks attached to the side of canyon walls and handrails such as shown here.

What has Sharon found? She points the way to the goodie at the end of the trail.

Johnston Canyon Falls. We are here finally!

Two quick shots of Sharon at the scenic viewpoint of the Lower Falls. We did not have the time to go up the trail to the Upper Falls. It was time to turn around and head back to continue the mountain tour.

Theresa, Sharon and Linda enjoying a minute out on the trail.

A closer up picture of the fabulous three.

By this time we are all ready for a picnic.

We are at the table closest to the outhouse of all places. Luckily the fumes were not coming our way.
