TRIP TO CROWSNEST PASS - STAMPEDE WEEK

TRIP TO CROWSNEST PASS - STAMPEDE WEEK

We were off to Saskatchewan for the weekend and then took a two day break in the pass.

During our southern Alberta flooding and heavy rains, this portion of the road had collasped.

I had been meaning to stop on one of the previous trips to capture this. They sure are taking some time in getting it fixed. The area is controlled by traffic lights.

You find this World War 2 artillary gun in the town of Frank as you pass by. Blink and you will miss it.

We were greeted by these flowers that finally opened up.

The gazebo had been blown over by our strong pass winds since our last visit so we rebuilt it and added bricks to the base to help hold it in place.

We repositioned it to a less windier location. We hope!

I have Linda a game of Scrabble. I seem to always win so we have to play Roll the Dice so she can win a game at something.

We did some touring around. This is on the west end of driving through Blairmore.

Flowers were in bloom along the Crowsnest river in Blairmore.

I found this minature railroad in Blairmore as we toured around town.

Celebrations were set up in town.

A young sap sucker in our tree in the front yard.

Another youngin' joins in the search for bugs that are attracted to the sap that leaks from the holes punctured by the birds.

Now they find their own branches. My neighbour next door was excited to view these birds on the tree in action. He is an avid bird watcher.

The male pokes his head from around the corner. These birds make frequent stops at our tree. Their nest must be nearby.

And now we have to head back to Calgary to meet my cousin from Florida coming in on Friday.
