TRIP TO CROWSNEST PASS - NANTON AND LEITCH COLLERIES

This was a weekend of a slower paced trip to the pass. We slowed down in Nanton and Leitch Colleries to take some photos.

I had passed by this museum many a time in Nanton, Alberta. It is a town that has undergone a facelift.

Another plane mounted on a pole.

A second view of the first plane.

A statue stands close to the parking lot.

Build your own backyard train layout with supplies from this store.

This camper got blown off a pick up truck. Never ride in one while in motion.

It sure got damaged. Looks like anything useable has been stripped out.

And one last view.

I found this sign rather amusing...Welcome, BUT "Enter at own risk!"

This is what it looked like in years gone by.

A very scenic spot.

Remains of the coke ovens.

Lee Lake. 3 kms off of Hwy 3. (west of Hwy 22.)

Lee Lake. Here is the place to fish.

The Wild Rose of Alberta.

Tall yellow flowers.

Flowers.

On a clearer day you can see the Crowsnest mtn and even the one behind it with the unusual rock formations.
