DAY 6A - Tuesday, August 27, 2002

GREEN RIVER, UT. TO HANKSVILLE, UT.

I woke up at 6:35 am. 15,198 kms on the car. I went East on I-70 then south on Hwy 191 to Canyonlands National Park.

On the road to Canyonlands National Park. Just enjoying the scenery all the way! I saw a rabbit running close to here for my first view of wildlife this morning.

I took a bit of a short hike along this path for a scenic view overlook.

I found this baby lizard as I headed back to the car from the short hike.

From the map, the Canyonlands National Park is not too much further now.

Viola, I have arrived!

From across the visitor center, you get this view!

Another canyon view!

Still another view from a scenic pullout on the road.

Then as I travelled further, these deer crossed the road right in front of me.

Another scenic view overlook.

Just love the views!

Time for a hike to stretch the old legs!

The trail is not clearly marked but close enough so that you do not get lost. I wonder if there are any cougars around here?

Down the trail, you come across this view.

And this view as well...

Such interesting rock formations!

Viewpoint.

I found this crow standing guard over the view.

I think he was just waiting for food handouts. Smart bird!
