I woke up at 8 am. 14408 kms was the mileage reading. I travelled the I-84 and saw the dust storm warning signs. I used the A/C of the car this day! HOT!
Just north of Twin Falls, I car camped at this Flying J travel stop. It is not always the most quiet place to try and get a few hours of sleep.
Shoshone Falls. A really nice area, but there was but a trickle of water flowing. Guess you need to visit this place in the spring time. It was pretty deserted when I arrived on site.
A view looking down the Snake River from the falls.
This mini falls is on the road down to the BIG Shoshone Falls.
Some weird rock formations at the lake by Shoshone Falls.
I saw these guys out there fishing on this small lake close to Shoshone Falls.
I stopped for a picture of these Brown Eyed Suzies as I headed up the hill from Shoshone Falls.
I stopped for this picture and then spotted that RV just up ahead with the owner holding a pair of booster cables looking for someone to stop to lend a hand. He was travelling with his daughter and the altenator was giving him trouble. I got him boosted then on my way again having done my good deed for the day.
I had an oil change done to my car in Ogden. It was about the same price that I would pay here but with the exchange rate, I paid around 50% more... yuck! Oh well, what can you do?
Nice scenery as I headed out of Ogden.
Scenery reminds me of what someone with a model railroad would model for their layout.
It sure was awesome scenery along the interstate.
More scenes along the way.
I took Hwy 40 west at dufrense then Hwy 191 south. I saw an old abandoned cabin of a pioneer's failed start. The road winds through this canyon for miles. Eventually you come to a Carbon plant along the way.
I came across this pastel colors of the different trees together and stopped for a picture. The road passes over a 9,000 ft mountain pass so there were no semis travelling this one. Well, this was one day that I did not take a lot of pictures. I had a look at the map and ended up in Green River, Utah for the night. I parked at a travel stop out in the field. It was a hot night and when I opened my window, I would get diesel fumes from a nearby truck.. oh well, can't win them all.
