After crossing into the U.S. I headed off now to my first U.S. National Park which would be Glacier National Park after making a right turn at St.Mary, Montana.
Glacier National Park. Arrived at 3:10 pm.
I stopped to take a picture of this scenic lake.
The "Going to the Sun Road". I put on my Santana music CD to listen to as I travelled along.
The "Going to the Sun Road". Tunnel ahead.
Looks like a good picture viewpoint.
The other side.
This touring bus had been refurbished and is now part of an refurbished operating fleet from the days of old in this National park.
Lots of folk stopped along this scenic bend in the highway.
Just beyond the Logan Pass visitor center... look way up... yes, those are hikers along that cliff wall.
Snow and a waterfall. Looks like some snow remains year round here.
As the sign says..."Bryd Woman Falls".
More of the scenic "Going to the Sun Road".
Welcome to Whitefish, Montana! I stopped at a nice picnic area in Columbia Falls for supper which was hosted by the Credit Union next door. For the solo car traveller with a cooler, a picnic area is always a welcome sight. Then it was off to Kalispell, Montana where I spent the night.
