38,872 kms. 7:00am and wide awake an hour before the information center opens so that I can find out the address of a Toyota dealer to get that oil change done. Once completed I take Hwy 71S and crossed into Louisiana. I saw oil wells but many pumps not pumping. I went through Shreveport, Louisiana and onto Hwy 1S. Through Natchitaches, Louisiana on Hwy 1S to I-49S. Past through Alexandria, Louisiana and took LA326S Woodworth, Louisiana to Hwy 165S. Noted that in Coushatta, Louisiana, they had a fancy RV area plus casino and now had my first view of palm trees. I took Hwy 190W which was called the Acadiana Trail. I have not seen any radar traps so far and no deer for many miles now. I took Hwy 12W next and crossed into Orange, Texas which had many yellow ribbons and U.S. flags on display. Then I turned onto I-10W to Hwy 69S to Hwy 87N. At Bridge City, Louisiana, I crossed over the Vetrans Memorial Bridge. I think that I saw a King Snake on the side of the road. Then took I-10E to Lake Charles, Lousiana and turned on the I-210 Loop and back onto I-10E stopping for the night at a truck stop in Iowa, Louisiana.
Here I am for the first time in my life being here. A first! Always interesting to enter a state that I have never set foot in!
Now that I am here, I am not sure that I wanna be!
Okay snake experts... What kind of snake was this one?
A glimpse of Louisiana's countryside.
More of that lovely countryside. So nice travelling through it.
This was the first area that I passed through where they really had the yellow ribbons on display.
There were a number of yellow ribbons along the road at this place. Orange, Texas.
I crossed over this bridge on the right after I stopped to take the picture. Veterans Memorial Bridge.
