38,178 kms on the car and 7:00 am wake up and away I go for another adventure down the highway! I took Hwy 65S passing through hills and trees. I came upon an overturned semi trailer and a bit of a delay getting through that mess. I took I-40E to Little Rock, Arkansas then I-30S doing a little drive by touring over to I-630W to I-430S and then I-30S. Then off the Interstate onto Hwy 70W to Hot Springs, Arkansas which is the boyhood home of Bill Clinton. Then Hwy 270W and at Pencil Bluff, I saw a black snake on the road. Continued to Hwy 88W to Mena, Arkansas then turned on Hwy 71S. My Alberta plate and the license plate for Arkansas were pretty close in color. Then crossed the Texas state line. My next goal was to find a Toyota dealer in Texarkana as it was time for my oil change. I did a search tour via Hwy 82W, Hwy 59N, I-30E to a rest/info stop where I decided to sleep the night away and get the directions when they opened up in the morning.
I came upon this snake sunbathing on the side of the road. There was a country mailbox right beside him. Imagine finding this waiting for you as you walked to your mailbox to get your mail. Is this called a Black Rat Snake?
