TREK TO FLORIDA - DAY 38B - Monday, May 19, 2003

MT STORM TO NEW BOSTON, OH

I went onto the Blue Ridge Parkway which I had been on earlier in my trip. I travelled on top of a mountain ridge with valleys on both sides of me. The took hwy 221 to hwy Alt 220 to I -18S and then onto I-77N to hwy 52N. The air smelled like blossoms along the highway. Then called it a night in New Boston, OH. and pulled off the hwy on a side street in town for the night.

This looked like a good place to stop for a picnic.

I set my camera on a stump with the self timer activated and there I am. McD's bag is for the garbage! I was not taking a short cut, honest!

A scenic view. I like the composition of this one.

Another scenic view. I put Ulysses in the picture now and then for some added interest even though it might be my own! hehe

This time I put the camera on the roof of the car and used the self timer. Not the best pose but it will do. I lost 8 of those lbs as I am doing this webpage. More to shed as I go... returning to the thin man again.

Here is a rock that looks like a sleeping man.

Awwwwww look... Bambi!

I found these old mining car tracks at this stop along the highway.

I saw a good number of these flowers along the road.

And past this dam enroute.

And into West Virginia. Hwy 52 went through some old communities in West Virginia.

I went through a couple of these tunnels along the highway.

I crossed over the Ohio River and into Ohio, my home state where I was born a long, long, long, long, time ago.
