48,339 kms in Van Bern, N.C. I saw a large brown rusty colored snake as I approached on town on the road. And then another further down. Not used to seeing them up where I live. I went into Washington, the original, the sign says! And then onto hwy 32N. I found a Piggly Wiggly store. Have not seen one of those for some time. and then onto hwy 17N to Elizabeth City where the landscape was flat with farmer fields. Then onto Virginia Beach where I saw the Cheaspeake Bay bridge/tunnel. Then turned on hwy 13 to hwy 60 to hwy 17n to Carrollton, VA and crossed the James River Bridge. Saw a tan snake with green stripes. then onto hwy 1N to Washington, D.C. I drove around for a while then found a quiet side street to park for the night. I was beat!
Welcome to Virginia! Are those dents from bullets?
The Cheaspeake Bay Tunnel/Bridge. There are four of both that you cross! One incredible construction feat!
Just crossed Albemarle Sound. A scene of the highway.
