Calgary, Alberta, 33,747 kms. I was running late and left at 8:40 am. Hwy 2S from Calgary to Hwy 3E to Lethbridge, Alberta and Hwy 4S to Coutts border crossing. Then onto I-15S to Shelby, Montana, hwy 2E to Glasgow,Montana, hwy 24S to hwy 200W to hwy 59S to Miles City, Montana. I was behind a lineup of trucks and a driver waved the cars to pass on the left. In Chester, Montana, I saw a blue bear. In Havre, Montana, I put some U.S. flag stickers on my car to show my support. At Ft. Peck, Montana, the scenery gets even better. Had a bird fly at me at 6 o'clock. Maybe it was an owl? Saw 3 deer and only one car had passed me in 52 miles. That was a very quiet stretch of road. I knew that up ahead, things would be very busy in places along the way. I enjoyed the serenity that was offered me. I turned onto hwy 200W and saw some deer herds by the hwy. It is always a bit unsettling driving at night knowing that one of those deer might just pop out of the night into my windshield but to date, I have not even had one close call in all of the miles that I had driven. I did install two deer whistles which may have helped on this trip.
Well, here I am back in the good ole U.S.A once again!
The Blue Bear in Chester, Montana. I thought maybe I should make this a trip to scout for "blue" animals as for something different. Later on down the road, I had passed several blue colored animals along the way but never had bothered to follow through with that idea. Oh well.
