We take you now to Chemainus, B.C. the city of murals after visiting Duncan, B.C. the city of totems.
Welcome to Chemainus. Linda took this photo of me. The deal was to see who was the best photographer.
And I took this photo of Linda. So which one do you like the best?
I took a closer up photo of Linda.
Chemainus Sign.
A mural at the post office.
I am standing next to this statue in Chemainus.
When you see Chemainus advertised, you usually see these three heads.
The full view of the famous Chemainus mural.
The figures here tell a story about a prank played on two teenage boys by the towns people. You will have to visit the site and read the story for yourself further.
One half of the long mural is shown here.
And here is the other half of the mural.
Linda holds the umbrella over these two seniors.
Another one of the many murals found in town. There is a mural walk planned out and you follow the sidewalk markings. You can see the markings in this photo.
We set up camp at a campground just before Parksville, B.C. Then we set off to find Judi from around the corner where I live. She had moved onto the island around 9 months ago. Her street was not on the map, but where I called from was very close so we just followed her directions in and had a good visit.
We booked the campground for a three night's stay. That let us explore up the island and back plus across the island to Tofino and return to the home base. The sky was rainy looking so we put up a tarp.
