COAST TO COAST ROAD TRIP ACROSS CANADA - DAY 3

COAST TO COAST ROAD TRIP ACROSS CANADA - DAY 3

May 23, 2004 - VANCOUVER, B.C. TO VICTORIA, B.C.

It was time to say goodbye to Ruth and to make our way to the ferry boat and head on over to Vancouver Island to begin the journey across Canada.

Here I am on the ferry as we sail across to Vancouver Island.

Linda poses with the wake behind her.

Our first destination on the island is to tour Buchart Gardens. 2004 is a very special year with a 100 year celebration taking place here.

Linda poses at the first outcrop of flowers. There were many bees around this place but none seemed to pose a threat at anytime. Guess they must have been well "bee" haved!

This one was shaped like an owl.

You follow these stairs down into the lower gardens. Very scenic area as you can see!

We set up our tripod here for a picture of us together.

Such a colorful display of flowers!

The path that follows through the gardens.

Another view along the path.

Another view along the path.

A gal poses for a picture with this fountain in the backdrop. They have it lit up at night with a show of floodlights.

The fountain moves to music.

Reflections in the water.

Many colors and unusual shapes.

A view across the pond.

100 years in bloom.

Linda poses next to a monkey tree. It is named that since it is the only tree that a monkey cannot climb.

My turn to get into the picture.

Look at this group of flowers.

Look at the bulges in this bush.

A pond with lily pads.

Look, Butchart Gardens even thinks of your pet with this special water dish.

Linda poses on a donkey.

Linda poses like a statue.

Linda poses in this arched walkway before the crowds came into the scene.

Linda poses next to this fish fountain.

A colorful arrangement.

A cove at the rear of the gardens.

And that was a day enjoying Butchart Gardens and all of it's splendor. We had to find a campground and call it a night.
