COAST TO COAST ROAD TRIP ACROSS CANADA - DAY 11

COAST TO COAST ROAD TRIP ACROSS CANADA - DAY 11

May 31, 2004 - SALMON ARM, B.C. - CALGARY, ALBERTA

We woke up with Mr. Sunshine and headed on down the road. We saw a bear along the highway in our travels. We watched him eat dandelions til an approaching group of motorcycles scared him away.

The last spike joining the east and the west. This is a roadside rest area as well.

There is a special picture taking spot down by the small station on the left so you can be photographed driving the last spike yourself.

Crossing the Columbia River into Revelstoke, B.C.

A train bridge runs parallel to the hwy bridge in the last photo.

I found this backpacker set up at the corner of the park beside the two bridges and the hwy.

A scene along hwy 1 in the Rockies.

Time for a quick stopover now at home then off on the road again the next day.
